Award Overview

Inspired by Professor Michele Parrinello's groundbreaking work in computational science, the Michele Parrinello Award celebrates innovation and honors those who have made significant contributions to advancing computational physical sciences. The award encourages interdisciplinary collaboration across physics, chemistry, and materials science, aiming to amplify global visibility and inspire future breakthroughs in computational research. Through this recognition, we aim to carry forward Professor Parrinello's enduring influence, motivating the next generation of researchers to continue exploring and pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Senior scientists with outstanding achievements and contributions in the fields of computational physical sciences encompassing fields such as physics, chemistry, and materials science, with particular emphasis on pioneering contributions to foundational science.

Who Can Be the Nominator?

The director of their host research institution or recognized scientists within the field.
(Self-nominations will not be considered.)

Required Nomination Materials

  • A biographical sketch;
  • A detailed description of the nominee's contributions;
  • 5-10 of the nominee’s representative academic publications;
  • A list of the nominee's awards and funded projects;
  • A nomination letter signed by two nominators.
